Breakfast at the HardRock Cafe: Capitol Hill: On east step (House side) with Congressman Paulson. Our group had to move because President Obama was coming to have lunch with the ambassador from Ireland in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Tour Guide Tim treated everyone with a green necklace to help celebrate St. Patty’s Day. Note the Irish band at the top of the steps. DAY ONE – Washington, D.C. Tour / Tour 104300945
Departure: Tour Director Tim Morner informs us that the group assembly at the airport went well in complete attendance. It was great to hear that both the security check (TSA) and the aircraft boarding processes went very efficiently. An unexpected pleasure on this outbound flight was to have Congresswoman Michelle Bachman on the plane with us. Arrival: Delta flight #2294 landed at DCA (Washington National Airport) at 4:35pm versus the anticipated at 4:22pm, so only a slight delay. The group was blessed by a very effiient baggage pickup and loading of the motorcoach, which more than made up the time, putting them right back on schedule.
