There will be a BLOG page for each day of the tour which will contain descriptive text and photos of the various experiences. The pages also provide a common and strategic location to update family and friends back home of information regarding travel and arrival times. DAY SIX – Tour 101421278, 6-Day East Coast Edventure
What a journey it has been! From the bustle and energy of American political activity in Washington D.C., to the historic battlefield of Gettysburg where our nation’s fate hung in the balance, to the excitement and glittering lights of Times Square. The students have filled their minds with some great first-hand experiences of modern American culture and history that they will hopefully be able to make relevant and applicable for their lives today. And let’s not forget all the tasty food as well as the fun of the Broadway performance – Wicked! While it’s sad to see it all begin to draw to a close, the final day of the tour begins at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a brilliant showcase of art pieces from around the globe. The touring ends with a final lunch time in Times Square. ST. DAY FIVE – Tour 101421278, 6-Day East Coast Edventure
This turned out to be a great weather day for everyone. In the morning, low fog swept through New York Harbor but the sun broke through and the day in Lower Manhattan was fantastic for a walking tour. The group had a blast on boat tour of New York Harbor complete with breakfast, fun music, and tour information about the city. And if you think it would be too early after the late night Broadway show to kick up some legs on the little dance floor inside, well … you’d have “missed the boat.” St. John’s students clearly know how to liven it up! 🙂 ...

Gettysburg National Military Park is our starting point for today’s day of touring. The licensed guides for our tour know the fateful events of July 1st through 3rd of 1863 like the back of their own hand. It’s remarkable how well the entire area has been preserved and groomed to retain the look and elements of that day. The students will learn a LOT this morning.
